An Eventful Weekend

This past weekend had a lot going on.  On Saturday we took Katelyn to see Disney on Ice: Toy Story!  Grammie and Grandpa surprised us with tickets (thank you!).  Katelyn loves this movie and knows all the characters, so she had a blast recognizing them all.  I wasn't sure how long she would want to sit through it, but it kept her engaged almost the whole time (like an hour and a half!).

"Studying" before the show :)
(I'm proud of myself for finally attempting some bows...I made this one to go with her last minute outfit - its actually a t-shirt from the boys section at Target, Luke may inherit this one!)

And in the car...

We just had to get a Jesse doll.

Hangin out during intermission.

She LOVES the part in the movie when Barbie and Ken first see each other (set to the "Dreamweaver" song).  So she was thrilled to see Barbie come skating out.  But after only about 2 seconds of watching Barbie, she immediately started asking, "KEN??"

The next day we went to Murray Farms with the Lewis fam.  Katelyn got to play in a corn kernel pool, run through a few mazes, race rubber duckies, ride a cow train, and best of all...dance on top of a haystack with Sydney!  Such a fun day!

The Fresno Zoo

We took the kids up to the Fresno Zoo last weekend with Kristen, Jordan, and Sydney.  Katelyn had a great time, she saw so many of the animals we read about in her books.  Luke had a great time too...sleeping. :)

Our first stop: the giant tortoise.  Kate has a book she loves about a turtle called Murray who does everything slowly so when she sees turtles she says, "slowly, slowly!"

Next were the elephants.  They were fun to watch, we got there right at feeding time.

The elephants were one of the most popular for the girls!  Kate and Syd...such great buds!

I think the orangutans were Katelyn's favorite.  They were climbing all over the place and one of them even had a baby hangin on!

The tiger pretty much just stayed in this position despite Katelyn roaring at it to get up!

The giraffes were so cute!

Kate and Mommy laughing at the giraffe's long purple tongue!

Kate stretching to see the flamingos better!

And all the while....our little zonker.

Superdaddy...

Across the street was a little carnival.  She loves carousels.

...and bug rides...

...basically anything that moves!

It was a great...and exhausting...day!

Pumpkin TIme!

I LOVE this time of year!  My Fall candles are going all day and so is the crockpot.  The weather is finally cool and the pumpkin patches are open!  Our MOPS group took a trip out to Banducci Farms with all the kiddos.  Katelyn had fun and Luke was such a trooper, he just slept in the bjorn the whole time!

They have goats, a horse, and chickens there.  Katelyn could have spent all day by the animals!

She liked comparing all the pumpkin sizes, "big...little...big...little"!

My little pumpkin!

She picked a perfect Kate-sized pumpkin!

Last night, just before tucking my two little pumpkins into bed...

They crack me up, melt my heart, and tire me out all at once!
